The name “Gurkha” originates from the Anglo-Nepalese War, when British soldiers were awed by the bravery of Nepali warriors. So respected were these fighters that they became an elite regiment in the British Indian Army. In tribute, British soldiers began rolling cigars named after them. In 1989, Kaizad Hansotia revived Gurkha cigars, crafting ultra-premium smokes of luxury and prestige.
