Savinelli commemorates the life and works of one of the world’s most famous Venetians with this limited edition series dedicated to Marco Polo. An explorer who traveled for 24 years across Asia, Polo’s experiences in the East were cataloged in a book called Il Milione that gave Europeans their first thorough look at Asia’s cultures. In Celebration of that feat, Savinelli presents this 111 KS Billiard, a stout, muscular, and reliable take on the timeless profile, complete with a flattened heel for easy sitting. A deep, inky rustication dresses the stummel, making for a richly textured feel in hand, and a tapering stem of black acrylic pairs to the stummel for complementary color. The all-black palette here is punctuated by a vibrant, crimson-hued accent band at the stem base that represents Polo’s signature hat.
