Peterson Pipes Pipe of the Year 2026 Terracotta P-Lip

For its 2026 Pipe of the Year Peterson returned to the 493 Squat “Cad” Bulldog, a shape cut in Dublin since 1896. Broad and low in the bowl with a crisp twin-bead ring, stout diamond shank and tapered P-Lip stem, it is the Bulldog rendered with Peterson’s trademark heft and horizontal poise.

The Terracotta finish is the edition’s showpiece: smooth briar in a warm, glowing orange-red stain that lets the grain shine, offset by a bright sterling silver band at the shank. It is also the lightest of the five finishes, tipping the scale at just over an ounce. The P-Lip mouthpiece supplies the marque’s dry, upward draw. A limited annual release for the collector who wants the 2026 shape at its most refined.
