The King is Dead is built almost entirely from aged Dominican leaf: a 2008 Negrito wrapper over a 2006 Corojo binder, with Corojo ligero, Negrito viso and HVA 20/20 — a Cuban hybrid grown in the Dominican Republic — in the filler.
The age shows in how it smokes. Dark earth carries the body and a maple-like sweetness runs beneath without ever turning sugary. Rich and balanced rather than heavy. The Last Payday is a 6×52 toro, the middle of the range. Boxes of 24.
