The Professor takes its name from Professor Moriarty, the detective’s great adversary, and like every pipe in Peterson’s Sherlock Holmes line it is an oversized Bent Billiard with real presence in the hand.
A deep rustication is worked rough across the bowl, with a sterling silver band hand-set at the shank — Peterson’s hallmark silverwork. The Professor wears a jet-black vulcanite P-Lip bit, the signature mouthpiece that lifts smoke up and away from the tongue. A big, characterful pipe with genuine literary pedigree.
