The Rathbone takes its name from Basil Rathbone, the definitive screen Holmes, and like every pipe in Peterson’s Sherlock Holmes line it is an oversized Bent Billiard with real presence in the hand.
A warm red-brown Terracotta stain deepens the smooth bowl’s grain, with a sterling silver band hand-set at the shank — Peterson’s hallmark silverwork. The Rathbone wears a jet-black vulcanite P-Lip bit, the signature mouthpiece that lifts smoke up and away from the tongue. A big, characterful pipe with genuine literary pedigree.
